Dear Brazos Christian Families,

We are excited to share a major announcement from TAPPS regarding the future of our athletic programs.

Due to the incredible success of Brazos Christian School across multiple sports at the district and state levels, TAPPS has made the unprecedented decision to move our athletic programs into higher classifications across the board. According to TAPPS leadership, this type of adjustment is extremely rare and has only been implemented for a select group of schools that have demonstrated sustained excellence. We are honored that Brazos Christian has been identified as one of those programs.

Effective for the 2026-2027 academic year, the following changes will take place:

- Football will move up to Division II
- Boys and Girls Basketball will move up to the 5A Division
- Winter Soccer will move up to Division I
- Baseball and Softball will move up to Division II
- Track & Field will move up to 6A due to the size and strength of our program
- All Golf Programs will transition to Co-Ed competition
- All other sports will also move up one division

TAPPS officials noted that Brazos Christian School has reached a level of competitiveness that exceeds our current classifications, and they believe this move will better align us with programs of similar caliber.

We are incredibly proud of our student-athletes, coaches, and the entire Eagle community for the dedication and commitment that has led to this recognition. This is truly a testament to the culture of excellence that continues to grow within our athletic department.
